“There is no place in the priesthood or religious life for those who would harm the young.” – Pope John Paul II in his Address to the Cardinals of the United States and Conference Officers
The Diocese of Jefferson City takes any allegation of abuse seriously, and providing a safe environment for our children and parishioners is of the highest importance.
The diocese encourages anyone who has been harmed by any member of the clergy to contact us at 573-635-9127 to speak with Ron Vessell, the Review Administrator (ext. 224), or Connie Schepers, Counselor, (ext. 254).

Retreats are excellent for spiritual renewal. But, have you noticed how that fire for the Lord seems to get snuffed out within 24 hours of the end of the retreat? Wouldn’t it be great to bottle up that fire and keep it burning for a long time? You have come to the right place! Have you made your Cursillo Weekend and need to rekindle the fire within? You’ve come to the right place, too!All of us are longing for something. That something is a relationship with Jesus Christ. Once one discovers the longing is for a deeper (or beginning) relationship with Jesus Christ the individual is ready to make our Cursillo Weekend experience. Cursillo” is Spanish for “short courses.” These short courses take place during a retreat weekend with others on the same search. The courses help the candidates fall deeper in love with Christ and his Church. What is even better about this weekend (Thursday evening through Sunday evening) is that the team walks the candidates through a process so they will continue to grow in their relationship with Christ and his Church. For those who have made their weekend, this is the website needed to explore the tool box given on the weekend and put those tools to work again! If you have not made your Cursillo Weekend yet, ask someone who has to help you take the appropriate steps to be part of a life-changing constant faith growing experience. Sincerely, Rev. Joseph S.
